Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! [INFOGRAPHIC]

Today marks what would’ve been the 108th birthday of the beloved children’s author, Dr. Seuss. We all know the importance of learning to read (and have fun doing it!) and we here at Social Grocery wanted to honor Dr. Seuss with our own infographic dedicated to him. Our favorite is, of course, Green Eggs and Ham!

Pass that Guinness!

Now that Valentine’s day is over, next up on our holiday hype is St. Patrick’s Day — a day loved by all, Irish or not.

In order to celebrate this holiday to the fullest, we are working our hardest to build the best Pinterest board — full of Irish destinations, food, clothing, collectables, decor and more. You knew we were going to do it — and with a month to go before St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th), we’re certainly off to a good start! We give you “Pass that Guinness!

Be sure to follow “Pass that Guinness!” to be updated on all of our findings — we might throw a few on Twitter, as well. Have a Pinterest board suggestion for us? We’d love to hear it!

Valentine’s Day = An excuse for food.

Really, though. Valentine’s Day is just another day to self-indulge in the things you love most — sweets, treats, fattening foods and cocktails. And what could be better, really? Nothing I can think of.

If you don’t believe me, I’ve laid out what I think is a successful Valentines Day “menu.” Really. I wish I had all of these things:

BREAKFAST:

Chocolate Crepes with Raspberry Sauce

LUNCH:

Be-My-Valentine Pizza

MID-AFTERNOON SNACK:

Heartfelt Cookies

APPETIZER:

Blue Cheese Heart Tarts

DINNER:

Apple-Stuffed Pork Roast

COCKTAIL:

Pomegranate-Champagne Punch

DESSERT:

Be-My-Valentine Strawberry Tart

NIGHT CAP:

Raspberry Chocolate Kiss Cocktail

See what I mean? Perfect day for eats! For more Valentine’s Day food ideas, take a peek at our Be Mine, Valentine? Pinterest board.

What will you be eating this Valentine’s Day? (Other than copious amounts of chocolate.)

Put on your game face! It’s Super Bowl XLVI time.

It’s Super Bowl time!

As many of you already know, our Social Grocery office is located in beautiful Vermont. HOWEVER, due to our geographical location, we are a battle zone when it comes to football team loyalties. While Vermont is technically part of New England (Patriots Nation), we also share a long border with New York (Giants turf). Because of this, Vermonters are a mixed breed when it comes to the pigskin. And when our two teams go head-to-head, Super Bowl parties are taken a bit more seriously than most!

Because the air around here is so thick with competition, we thought the least we can do is create a great list of Super Bowl party ideas for everyone to enjoy — Patriots fans, Giants fans and others alike! We give you our “TOUCHDOWN!” list (on Pinterest):

We’ve been searching the Internet far and wide to find the best Super Bowl recipes, decorating tips and entertaining ideas for you to noodle. We’ll be updating this list all week, so make sure you stop by again! You can also follow our Twitter feed for some helpful links.

Who will you be rooting for this Sunday?

Time for BRINNER (that’s breakfast for dinner).

Maybe it’s the background on my phone that keeps flashing an amazing diner breakfast, my obsession for maple syrup, or the eggs sitting in my fridge — but let me tell you, I have a craving. And that craving is BREAKFAST FOOD. Might be an issue seeing as how “breakfast” is a good 15 or so hours away, right? Wrong. All wrong.

The solution?
BRINNER.
Yes. Breakfast + dinner.
Combined.

You like that?
You should.

Of course, this craving brings me to Google (the internet’s best friend). The first thing I find is that the geniuses behind theKitchn call breakfast for dinner “brinner” as well. GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE! Because they’re so great, they kick off my brinner must-try list:

Of course, all of these will be topped by some dark amber pure Vermont maple syrup. AS IF THERE IS ANY OTHER KIND OF SYRUP? Obviously not.

What is your favorite meal of the day?

We love to online grocery shop!

On Social Grocery, we make shopping for your favorite items easy!

On the right of each product page, you will find a section entitled “Buy This Product.”

From there, we use your zip code to connect you with local stores that provide online grocery shopping — if they carry that specific product. If not, no worries! We also provide you with links to national online stores, Netgrocer.com and Amazon.com,  for all of your shopping needs.

This feature helps make Social Grocery perfect for not only products you use everyday, but products you have loved in the past and are no longer available in your area.
